By crafting a series of symbols of modern technology using traditional artisanal techniques such as cross-stitch embroidery, I establish a baseline for their creation time, which can then be compared to that of making them using more advanced means. The stitch replaces the pixel, loop after loop, hour after hour. The paradox: These traditional artisanal techniques still coexist with the latest gadgets.
The QR codes are created by specialist computer programs and, after being faithfully reproduced in cotton fiber, technological devices (such as a Smartphone with a QR reader AP) decipher the message and access the work. This piece is the key to the project as, without such a device, the communication channel breaks down and there is no possibility for the viewer to actually receive the message.

A través de la manufactura (con la técnica artesanal del punto de cruz) de una serie de iconos de las nuevas tecnologías, se establece la medición del tiempo de ejecución de las piezas frente a su creación con medios más avanzados. La puntada sustituye al pixel, bucle tras bucle, hora tras hora. La paradoja: técnicas artesanales tradicionales conviven con gadgets de última generación.
Los códigos QR se generan por medio de programas informáticos específicos y, tras reproducirse fielmente con fibras de algodón sobre cañamazo, el dispositivo tecnológico (Smartphone + QR reader APP) descifra el mensaje oculto y se accede a la obra. Esta pieza es la clave del proyecto, ya que cuando el espectador no posee este tipo de artilugio, se produce una fisura en el canal de comunicación y no hay posibilidad de acceder al mensaje.

Indem ich eine Reihe von Symbolen moderner Technologie mit traditionellen handwerklichen Techniken wie Kreuzstichstickerei herstelle, schaffe ich eine zeitliche Basis für ihre Herstellung, die dann mit der Fertigung durch fortschrittlichere Mittel verglichen werden kann. Der Stich ersetzt das Pixel, Masche um Masche, Stunde um Stunde. Das Paradoxon: Diese traditionellen handwerklichen Techniken existieren noch immer neben den modernsten Geräten.
Die QR-Codes werden von speziellen Computerprogrammen erstellt. Nachdem sie in Baumwollfasern originalgetreu reproduziert worden sind, entschlüsseln technologische Geräte (z.B. ein Smartphone mit einem QR-Code-Leser) die Nachricht und greifen auf die Arbeit zu. Dieses Stück ist der Schlüssel zum Projekt, da ohne ein solches Gerät der Kommunikationskanal zusammenbricht und der Betrachter keine Möglichkeit hat, die Nachricht tatsächlich zu empfangen.
