I surf the web searching for photos of secondhand-wedding-dresses. Then, I download those images to get my own collection. People who put on sale these dresses make a non-professional image treatment to safeguard their identity, cutting heads in some cases, or painting them in others. I speculate about the reason for the sale; it may be due to a failed marriage, or simply because of economic necessity. But, in any case, it makes us reflect on the myth of the wedding and everything around that business.

Navego por Internet buscando fotos de vestidos de novia de segunda mano y descargo esas imágenes para completar mi propia colección. Las personas que ponen a la venta esos vestidos hacen un tratamiento de imágenes no-profesional para salvaguardar su identidad, cortando las cabezas en algunos casos, o pintándolas y tachándolas en otros. Me resulta interesante especular acerca del motivo de la venta; puede ser por fracaso matrimonial, o simplemente por necesidad económica, pero, en cualquier, caso nos hace reflexionar sobre la mitificación de las bodas y todo lo que gira en torno a ellas.

Bei einer Internetrecherche stiess ich auf Fotos von gebrauchten Hochzeitskleidern, die ich runterlud, um meine private Sammlung zu vervollständigen. Um ihre eigene Identität zu verschleiern, bedienen sich die Verkäuferinnen der Brautkleider dabei einer sehr seltsamen, semiprofessionellen Art der Bildbearbeitung, indem sie ihre Gesichter aus den Fotos rausschneiden, übermalen oder mit Kritzeleien unkenntlich machen. Besonders interessant erschien mir dabei ihr persönliches Motiv für den Verkauf: Geschah es, weil die Beziehung in Scherben lag oder nur aus finanzieller Not? Auf jeden Fall aber wird die Glorifizierung des Thema Hochzeit und allem, was damit zusammenhängt, in Frage gestellt.
