I constantly feel assaulted by words and actions coming from that ‘Faith Bank’ that has branches in every single village of this country. Creating fear and manipulating minds are the main engines for any successful religion. Fear is a lot better at convincing (or persuading) than love… There is no comparison! If you don’t behave, there will be a punishment, and it will hurt… a lot.
But the true danger of religion is those few men behind a shield called God. They fear people who are not dependable of them, people whom they cannot control, and people who question them. They say that the worst of punishments is Hell. I remember that a friend used to say that rather than going to Heaven, he wanted to end up in Hell because over there it would surely be warm, there would be music, drinks, cigarettes, and scarcelyclothed men…. And in fact, I prefer hot weather to cold; there is nothing I can do about it. And, by the way, I religiously read every month my horoscope.

Constantemente me siento agredida por palabras y hechos provenientes de ese ‘Banco de Fe’ que tiene sucursales en todos los pueblos de este país. Crear miedo y manipular mentes son el principal motor de toda religión exitosa. El Miedo convence (o manipula) mucho mejor que el Amor. ¡Dónde va a parar! Si no te portas bien, habrá un castigo y dolerá…
Pero el verdadero peligro de la religión son unos cuantos hombres que están detrás de ese escudo llamado Dios. Temen a la gente que no depende de ellos, a la gente que no pueden controlar y a la gente que los cuestiona. Dicen que el mayor de los castigos es el Infierno. Recuerdo que un amigo solía decir que antes que al cielo prefería ir al infierno, porque allí se está calentito, hay música, bebida, cigarros y muchos hombres ligeros de ropa. Y es que yo soporto mejor el calor que el frío, qué le voy a hacer. ¡Ah! Y todos los meses leo religiosamente mi pronóstico astrológico.

Ich fühle mich ständig durch Worte und Taten dieses Konstruktes namens Glauben bzw. der Kirche belästigt, die wie eine kommerzielle Bank Filialen in jedem einzelnen Dorf in diesem Land unterhält. Angsterzeugung und Gedankenmanipulation halten den Motor jeder erfolgreichen Religion am Laufen. Angst überzeugt (oder verführt) einfach so viel besser als Liebe … Es gibt nichts Vergleichbares! Wenn du nicht gehorchst, wirst du bestraft, und es wird weh tun … sehr weh.
Aber die wirkliche Gefahr der Religion geht von ein paar Männern aus, die sich hinter einem Schutzschild namens Gott verbergen. Sie haben Angst vor Menschen, die sich ihnen nicht anschließen, Menschen also, die sie nicht kontrollieren können und von denen sie hinterfragt werden. Sie sagen, dass die Hölle die größte Gefahr ist. Ich erinnere mich, wie mir eine Freundin mal sagte, dass sie lieber in die Hölle als in den Himmel kommen wolle, da es dort sicherlich schön warm sei, Musik, Getränke, Zigaretten gäbe und auch leicht bekleidete Männer … Auch ich ziehe ein warmes Klima der Kälte vor, das ist einfach so. Und übrigens lese ich sehr gewissenhaft jeden Monat mein Horoskop.
